Plant genetics is one of the basic elements of a successful crop. Information about the origin of a particular plant species determines its effective cultivation. By a proper selection of plants of a given species and their reproduction we achieve desirable qualities such as flavor and color. We do not use genetically modified plants. Using the knowledge of the needs of the plants, technology and the highest quality supplements we support the natural development of the genetic material. Plants that we select are being added to our systems.
Just as the impact of climate clearly affects human beings, so it affects the life and development of plants. Temperature, humidity and airflow affect the physiology of plants and their growth. Photosynthesis is one of the basic biological processes. It determines the existence of an absolute majority of living organisms on Earth. Through photosynthesis, it is possible to change inorganic matter into an organic as a source of energy for organisms equipped with chlorophyll. Chlorophyll causes the characteristic green color. The green color of chlorophyll is due to the high absorption in the red and the blue part of the light spectrum, and low absorption in the green part of the spectrum of light (wavelength 500-600 nm).
With the provision of suitable light, water, nutrients and CO₂ there is a process known as photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is one of the basic biological processes. Since the reaction of photosynthesis can be converted to inorganic matter and an organic source of energy for the plant, insufficient amount of light will not only slow down the growth process, but will also adversely affect plants growth. Plants can be excessively elongated, weak, and unproductive. Exposure time affects the life cycle of some plants (photoperiodism), or simply the size of the harvest.
The choice of the right light affects the cost of the light source, power consumption, current, optical spectrum and individual customer requirements. The light in a non monochromatic decomposed into waves of different lengths (colors). As already noted, photosynthesis occurs in the organic chemical compounds called chlorophyll. There are many types of chlorophyll, but the most common is a chlorophyll A and B. Each of the chlorophyll absorbs other spectrum. For chlorophyll A maximum absorption occurs at 430 and 662nm and for chlorophyll B at 453 and 642nm.
The most important role is played by shades of blue and red paint. Knowledge of light absorption of chlorophylls allowed scientists to construct new technology - LED, where support for the setting-chip LED emits at a selected wave. The market frequently encounter sodium lamps, metal halide, fluorescent, LED, and there has recently been introduced a plasma light. Each technology has its advantages and disadvantages. That is why we choose the source of the most relevant product to the project.
The main factors affecting the healthy development of plants result from the choice of the environment in which they grow. The most common method of cultivation is the soil cultivation. Commercial cultivation methods, however, cause soil contamination, ground trampling by heavy equipment, monoculture, deforestation, very large water consumption, pesticide usage; large distances between plantations and cities impose truck transport, which is expensive and not environmentally friendly. It all makes the crops strive for new, optimized solutions.
The root of the plant needs water, oxygen and conditioner. If the aim is maximization of effects, then such elements cannot be easily influenced in the soil. Another way of growing plants is the cultivation of soilless, hydroponics. The roots of the plants are immersed in or sprayed with oxygenated water along with dissolved minerals.
How old must be a technology to name it traditional?
The history of such cultivation dates back to ancient Babylon, where there were Hanging Gardens of Babylon. The Aztecs built flowing gardens; in Egypt were built the reservoirs along the Nile and in Asia were built water rice terraces. Nowadays, unripe strawberries or tomatoes, often without smell and taste are being imported into Poland, for example. The products are often exposed to a preservative to survive transport. These products often come from hydroponic cultivation and therefore do not always reach good reputation. The problem of importing products maturing in transport can be solved by creating local cultivation of the highest quality.
In closed hydroponic systems, we are able to save up to 90% of water. Farms can be set up even in such a space, which is now thought to be unsuitable (basement, garage, and other utility rooms). The space can be further saved using vertical cultivation. Plants of these crops are more resistant to viruses and bacteria, so there is no need to use pesticides. They are also free of heavy metals, are often present in the soil. It eliminates the problem of exhaustion of the soil by growing monoculture. Our proposed technology allows you to control the density of mineral salts, oxygen levels, water quality, pH and interactively to achieve the ideal conditions for the plant.
One of the branches of hydroponic crops is aquaponics. It is a hybrid system that combines conventional aquaculture (fish) with hydroponics produced in symbiotic environment. Waste from fish provides food for plants. Plants naturally filter the water in which the fish live. Plants transform ammonia from the waste that is toxic to fish. Fish is unusable, but the bacteria present in the water convert it first nitrite and then nitrate, and these are the basis of plant nutrition. An additional benefit of such crops is fish or crayfish and also lack of any artificial fertilizers.
You could say that aquaponics cultivation is one of the most organic and self-sufficient crops in the world.
Lured by the colors of vegetables we often buy everything that we are offered by sellers. We believe that the products are full of vitamins and minerals. Keep in mind that plants can grow very quickly and even quicker can be sold. This speed can hide a lot of harmful substances. Intensification of production by excessive use of fertilizers, including nitrogen, but may be harmful, especially to children and the elderly. Plants absorb nitrogen through the root system in the form of nitrates and nitrites. The occurrence of nitrogen in certain plants is normal because it is a natural consequence of the nitrogen cycle in nature. The problem is the excessive accumulation of nitrogen.
The excessive accumulation of nitrogen affects the amount of fertilizer, light, type of plant, growth stage
and method of storage.
Therefore, the fertilizer should be applied in accordance with the needs of plants in a given growth phase. Deficiency of certain elements also leads to accumulation of nitrogen. In case of the macro elements, for example, phosphorus, potassium, magnesium while in case of the microelements there will mainly be molybdenum and iron.
